About Rick Ashworth
Rick Ashworth is an expert psychotherapist who has been a clinical practioner in the field of mental health for thirty years. He graduated from Old Dominion University with a major in psychology and Norfolk State University with a master’s degree in Social Work. He received credentials from the Academy of Certified Social Workers in 1978. He was licensed by the State of Virginia as an independent clinical practioner in 1982. He has received extensive training and post graduate expertise throughout his career.
His primary practice has been with the adult population specializing in treatment of anxiety disorders, panic attacks, mood disorders and stress management. Services are provided through individual therapy sessions, marriage and family counseling as well as group therapy.
Rick Ashworth does provide psychotherapy for children and adolescents; he has worked proficiently with these young people throughout his career attaining good results for child and family.
Also, he has had specialized focused outpatient training to address the needs of people working through recovery from alcohol and drug addiction.
Rick Ashworth has been a licensed ordained minister since 1974; he has worked bivocationally as pastor of small churches and psychotherapist for many years. Currently he is an associate with Betty Eastman, LCSW and Associates, Inc.
